Customer Objectives
M. Dias Branco, a leading Brazilian food producer, wanted to increase efficiency and simplify operations at their Eusébio, Ceará, headquarters. Specifically, to prepare for their expansion, they wanted 16 pasta and cookie lines to merge all products to centralized automated palletizing area. Despite the challenging mix of product sizes and the added complexity of handling bundles, their goals were to achieve a throughput of 100 packages per minute (PPM), optimize their layout, and reduce labor.
Intralox Execution
M. Dias Branco proactively sought Intralox’s involvement from the project’s inception, requesting that Águia Sistemas, their OEM integrator, work with us to develop a solution. In addition to our product quality and emergency services, M. Dias Branco recognized that our layout optimization expertise would be critical to achieving their goals. Intralox’s early engagement and triangulation between M. Dias Branco and Águia Sistemas allowed for a thorough understanding of the customer’s challenges and their highest priorities—namely, installing the automation with limited line shutdown. With Águia Sistemas providing invaluable system integration knowledge that complemented Intralox’s conveyance solutions expertise, we created a comprehensive, system-level solution. It included an Activated Roller Belt (ARB) Sorter S7000 and an innovative combination of switches, belts, and rollers tailored to M. Dias Branco’s specific needs.
Results
The new system achieved M. Dias Branco’s throughput goals, optimizing product handling while reducing labor and footprint requirements. M. Dias Branco praised the collaborative efforts of Intralox and Águia Sistemas—particularly their seamless integration of the solution into the operation’s existing framework. Based on the successful triangulation between Intralox and Águia Sistemas, M. Dias Branco strongly recommends this approach to other companies seeking smooth and efficient expansion.
With Intralox, we have confidence that the project will work well. Because it’s new to us and it’s new to the integrator, but it’s common to Intralox. With Intralox’s help we work, really, with four hands: our hands and their hands.
