Intralox unveils 60,000 square foot expansion

Reaffirming its commitment to Tangipahoa parish, Intralox celebrated the opening of a 60,000 square foot molding hall expansion at its Hammond, La. facility on Tuesday. Intralox employees were joined by members of the Tangipahoa Parish government and other local business leaders for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. 

The expansion will result in the addition of over 40 new jobs as injection molding machines are added to the facility. The additional space will house up to 40 new machines. 

“Students at Northshore Technical College and Southeastern Louisiana University are able to take advantage of this,” said Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller. “This is STEM. There’s plenty of opportunity for the people of Tangipahoa Parish due to companies like Intralox.”

This is the first of a series of planned expansions in Hammond, where Intralox has been producing belt components since 2013. Additional warehouse space is under construction, set to be complete in 2018. A second warehouse expansion is in planning, set for a 2019 completion.

“From the shrimp peeler (Laitram) to the global conveyance system (Intralox), this is a worldwide company making a huge investment in Tangipahoa Parish,” Miller said.

Founded in 1971, Intralox is globally headquartered in Harahan, La. with locations around the world in Europe, China, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Australia, Japan and India.
